Printer Scanner - Techicode Solution For Your Small Business

Posted on 01:49 by Unknown
http://www.techicode.com/scanner_support.php
An ordinary office usually has an inkjet or laser printer, a personal copier, a fax machine, and maybe even a scanner. It's fine for large businesses to purchase each machine individually and to find adequate space for them within their large offices. However, in most circumstances small businesses owners would find it unaffordable to acquire a printer, scanner, copier and fax machine separately.

Furthermore, those who operate from home offices would find it impossible to find enough space to accommodate each machine within their limited space. Having said this, running a sound business without any of these machines is near impossible. This is where technology steps in as the savior. It is a known fact that technological advancements have made life easier and more convenient. A prime example of this is the all-in-one printer scanner copier fax.

Deciding to buy a multifunction device is only half the battle. Choosing the right machine to suit your needs is a whole lot trickier. Add to this the fact that we as consumers are spoiled with choices. There are a wide variety of multiple function devices to choose from. Hence, it is of utmost importance that we exercise diligence while choosing a printer scanner copier fax. The type, memory and speed of the device should be in keeping with your individual needs.

The most important factor to consider while purchasing a printer scanner copier fax is the fax modem speed. The minimum required speed is 33 kbps. Cheaper multifunction devices tend to have a slower speed. This would end up costing you a bundle in faxing. So instead of trying to save on initial costs think long term and invest in a slightly more expensive multifunction device with the specified speed. This will inevitably lead to improved operating costs and efficiency.

Another important consideration is the memory of the multifunction device. 8MB is the standard in today's market. However it is advisable to have at least 16 MB of memory, especially if you work with large documents. Certain multifunction devices are equipped with an expandable memory option. Keep an eye out for this feature since it might come in handy during upgrades.

The final and most important thing to notice about the multifunction device is whether it possesses a laser printer or an ink printer. Although more expensive, the laser printer is fast and has a greater page output. Its print quality has greater durability, and is waterproof. The ink printer on the other hand is slow. Its biggest drawback is that its output isn't waterproof and is found wanting in quality. Despite being slightly more expensive the odds clearly stack up in favor of the laser printer.

In the world of business the loss of time invariably equates to financial losses. Improved productivity is a result of improved efficiency. Give your business the competitive edge and equip your office with the all-in-one printer scanner support.

How to Fix Windows 7 Slowdown Problems

Posted on 22:16 by Unknown
http://www.techicode.com/microsoft_windows_7_support.php
Despite that your Windows 7 computer is a brand new machine, you might be faced with the horrible slowdown problem. Running too many startup programs and multiple antivirus programs are among other reasons that may cause your Windows 7 computer to experience slowdown or sluggishness. It won't really sound odd if you say "I am battling with slowdown in my Windows 7 computer" because that's what the truth is.

You can do two things if you want to fix the slowdown problem in your Windows 7 machine and get it to pick up its pace. The first thing is to ask for Windows 7 tech support if your machine is within the manufacturer warranty. If the plan A is not choice, it means that your machine is out of warranty. Even if it is, you can still ask for Windows 7 tech support but the paid one. There is a second alternative also which you can exercise if you are good at browsing the web. I am describing some steps here for the second option (or should I call it plan B? take it whichever you want).

· Open your web browser and visit the Microsoft website. Search for Help & How To tutorials meant for Windows 7 on the page. You may see lots of options but don't be confused. If you are good at browsing, I know you can find out Windows 7 Help & How to tutorials.

· On the Support for Windows 7 page, click the 'Performance and Maintenance' link in the left hand side section. Under 'Getting the best performance section', click 'Fix Windows system performance problems on slow windows computers'.

· You will now be redirected to another page. On this page, you will find a Microsoft Fix it troubleshooter, the automated tool. Click the Run now button to start running the tool. Follow the on-screen prompts and run the tool. If prompted to save the tool, save it.

· Make sure that you are logged in with admin rights. Otherwise the tool won't run to diagnose your computer and fix the potential problems with your computer. Once the tool has diagnosed your computer and fixed problems, you will experience an incredible boost in its speed and performance.

· This automated tool resets your computer's power plan to Power Saver mode, fixes problems related to multiple antivirus programs running simultaneously, disables unnecessary programs running at the startup, and checks if multiple users are logged on this system and disables all of them except your user account. The tools also fixes problems related to advanced graphics effects run by multiple programs at once. Advanced visual effects can lead to slowdown or performance hitch in your computer.

Windows Vista Blue Screen Error, Techicode Is There For You

Posted on 22:29 by Unknown
http://www.techicode.com/blue_screen_support.php
If you are using Windows Vista, then you do know what a good system it is! But unfortunately every good system also has problems once in a while and Windows Vista is not the exception. Almost every one who uses Vista knows that the infamous blue screen of death can pop up at any time causing severe problems for users.

In fact you will be pounding away quite happily and then all of a sudden the computer just switches over to a virulently blue screen of numbers and letters. And that's the end of your computer till you can get it repaired by a good technician. Don't you just hate this Windows vista bblue screen error? If you want to avoid these common problems then here are a few common problems symptoms you should realize about a sick system before you continue.

Almost every computer has a central database or folder of files called as the registry. When you keep down loading software or hard ware on your computer then all the files are loaded in to the registry at different locations. Now even though the new soft ware you have downloaded in to the Windows Vista systems is essential to you a few of these programs are commonly built on obsolete languages which interfere with the registry and don't allow it to function well. These programs cause the Windows vista blue screen error commonly called as the blue screen of death.

If you have used any new software since the time you've got your computer then its time to get it checked for a corrupted registry and it's a good idea to get a really great registry cleaner to keep your computer clean of the Windows vista blue screen error popularly known as the blue screen of death.
Slow Boot ups are the starting sign of registry vice as it's the time when Windows Vista registry has to decide among all the different startup programs like anti-virus and firewall software, and the Vistas package itself, which one would be necessary to be used first.

Sometimes there is so much superfluous information on the registry that its simply too large and jumbled. As a result, Windows gets confused about assigning priorities to opening files and the process continues to an eventual Windows vista blue screen error commonly called as the blue screen of death. A registry cleaner program can sort through the program scraps and then find out which is one is necessary and delete the remaining.

Error Messages are frequent with corrupted Window registry problem. As Windows Vistas sorts through the different scarps of useless information for a specific file it gets confused and gets completely stopped by these program pieces which are totally useless. Freezes and Crashes are also very common when Windows gets confused with the registry errors which are cluttering up the disk and a good registry cleaner can treat the problem immediately.

Windows vista blue screen error commonly called as the blue screen of death or the blue DOS screen is extremely common when the computer get pervaded with useless information on the registry. If all those happen frequently, you will end up losing your data as you must format your hard drive and reinstall the operating system.

How to Check My Outlook Express Email

Posted on 22:27 by Unknown
If you are a new user who has recently set up an email profile in Microsoft Outlook Express, you surely want to know the ways of checking your emails. Here goes an Outlook Express support guide for you. The comprehensive set of instructions will tell you different ways including enabling Remote Desktop connection for accessing emails from a remote computer.

Instructions:

To check your Outlook Express email what you need to do is just launch Outlook Express and hit the Send/Receive button. As soon as you will be doing that all your emails will start downloading to your Inbox. If you don't see a Send/Receive button, click on the Tools tab and then click to select the Send and Receive option from the drop-down menu.

If you don't want to go through the hassles of clicking the Send/Receive button or the option every time you open Outlook Express, there is another simple way of downloading your emails automatically to your Inbox.
To do so, click on the Tools tab and click to choose Options from the drop-down menu. When the Options dialog box opens, click on the General tab (if it is not highlighted by default) and click to check the box beside Check for new messages every - minute(s). Click on the drop-down arrow next to this option to adjust the time. If you want to be notified with a sound when a new message arrives to your Inbox, check the box beside Play sound when new messages arrive. If you want to further changes, do so. Or else, press Apply and then the OK button to close the Options dialog box.

If you are frequently away from your computer and you want to check your emails from the place you are at, you can do so by simply configuring some settings on your Outlook Express. When done, hit the Apply button and then OK to exit the Properties dialog box.

If you are using Windows 7 or Vista, click on the Start menu, right click on Computer, and choose Properties. Click the Remote settings link in the left hand pane. In the System Properties window, click the Remote tab. under the Remote Desktop heading, click the button beside Allow connections from computers running any version of Remote Desktop (less secure). Highlight the Computer Name tab and note down your computer's name. Thereafter, click Apply and then OK to exit the window.

If you don't know the IP address of your computer, check Additional Tips (given at the end of the article). When done, leave the computer turned on. Do not turn off your computer as doing so will disable the remote computer from connecting to it. When you are at another place from where you want to connect to your home computer for Outlook Express emails, do this exercise. Click the Start menu and go to All Programs> Accessories> Communications> Remote Desktop Connection. This will remain the same for Windows 7 and Vista too.

When in the Remote Desktop Connection window, type the full name of your computer in the box next to Computer and press the Connect button. If you see an Option button, you can adjust the settings for your home computer, connection bandwidth, or programs etc. If you don't want to do this, simply hit Connect and you are done. When prompted, enter the log-in details like password to connect to your home computer and it will start working in a virtual environment.

Choosing an Online Computer Repair Service

Posted on 21:59 by Unknown
How to Choose an Online Computer Repair Service Provider

There are a lot of advantages to hiring someone online to provide computer repair services. With windows pcs constantly having problems, especially when it comes to viruses, it's nice to know that there are solutions that are faster, and more efficient than bringing your computer to one of the big box stores and shelling out hundreds of dollars just to have someone inspect the computer to find out the problem. Worse yet, is that those stores don't operate 24/7, they can only be open for so long. As we all know, regardless of business hours, computers are going to fail or get infected with a virus and the longer you have to wait the worse it can be for you.

By hiring a professional computer repair service technician online, you can get 24 hour access to a professional, with industry experience, who can work with you remotely to help solve your computer issues. The problem we run into, is with all the different companies advertising "instant computer diagnosis and repair" services on TV, it's hard to know who to trust and whether or not you're going to get what you paid for.

When hiring a computer repair service online, it's best to work with a real person, with real customer reviews and a proven track record rather than paying for some automated computer repair/virus removal program that can't guarantee it will fix your problem. And what if it doesn't fix the problem? Will that company send out a tech the next day to handle it in person or are you completely out of luck.

The Benefits of Online Repair Services

When you hire a real computer repair tech online, you are working one on one with someone on the other end who can investigate your computer problems or virus infections and make a diagnosis specifically for your issue. The best part is, if it can't be fixed online, you are left with the option of having the computer tech come to your home the next day and handling it in person.

Many repair services that offer online computer repair will often offer monthly or yearly support packages, which are not only beneficial to the residential computer user, but can be extremely beneficial to small businesses and people who work from home. When your entire business is run from a computer, it's nice to know that you have a complete IT department waiting for your call, without having to increase expenses by hiring an IT department. You can outsource your computer repairs and IT problems to someone who will be ther 24/7 to ensure your business operations are running smoothly. Don't need a monthly service package? Most repair services that offer online support will offer one time or on demand pricing as well.

While a lot of issues can be corrected with online computer repair, there are many issues that will require a service tech to visit your home or have you bring your computer in. Hardware problems such as crashed or failed hard drives, mother board failures, overheating or other computer problems will not be able to be fixed online. Anything that is preventing your computer from turning on will also prevent online repair. If you can't turn it on, how will the computer repair technician be able to connect to the computer and take a look?
In conclusion, when you're looking for an online computer repair service, be sure to check all of the available options and ensure that the service you're looking for is offered online. If you have questions, be sure to give the service tech a call and they will be happy to walk you through the process.

Get Techicode Online PC Optimization for Better Level of Service

Posted on 22:01 by Unknown
Many things can affect how well a computer runs. The number of programs installed, the amount of memory used for each program, errors in the registry. To fix these manually takes a long time and is potentially damaging. PC optimization software can assist in keeping your computer running to its maximum potential.

How Can I Speed Up My Computer Manually?

There are a number of things and steps you can take to speed up your computer. Most of the programs needed to increase your computers performance should be already installed on to your system. However, this is the bare minimum you should do to maintain your computers performance and stability;
  1. Go to the 'Start' menu and then to 'All Programs'
  2. Go to 'Accessories' and 'System Tools'
  3. Click on the 'Disk Fragmentary' and defragment your disk
  4. Once this has finished go back to system tools and click 'Disk Cleanup'
  5. Go to 'Add/Remove programs' and un install any unused programs
  6. Once you have done this go to 'Run' and type in 'msconfig'. Then go to the start up tab and un click any programs you don't wish to run on start up
If you follow these measures you can increase your computers loading times and reduce the stress on the memory usage. However, this is only a quick fix and will not greatly increase your operating system speed. For this you require software to constantly maintain a high level of performance.

Why Do I Need PC Optimization?

The way forward in computer maintenance is PC booster software. To keep your computer safe and secure requires a number of different programs running, each targeting different aspects of your system and keep under control the vast number of problems which could arise. Attempting to maintain your system manually requires an immense amount of time, effort and professionalism which unfortunately, most of do not have. Changing but one file can cause a lot of damage to your operating system.

To really keep your computer completely protected and maintained, you would usually require as a minimum;
  1. Anti spyware software
  2. Registry Cleaning software
  3. PC optimizer for maximum efficiency
  4. Regular De fragmentation
  5. Secure Delete and uninstall software
All these things are essential if you want to keep your PC free of threats from both the internet and offline sources. However, buying all of these programs separately can be rather costly and most companies will only offer them individually. There are alternatives however to purchasing each of these programs separately.

Where Can I Find A PC Booster?

There is software available on the internet which will do all the tasks mentioned above, and more. PC optimization software will keep a constantly maintained high level of performance by rooting out empty registry entries and various other junk files and removing them. Other than cleaning junk files PC optimization software will prevent background programs from using up valuable ram whilst you are using programs such as the internet.

IT Technical Support - Wireless Networking - A Bit of Advice

Posted on 22:27 by Unknown
Over the years, wireless home networking has become a virtual must. With many homes now hosting one or more computers and laptops, need to be able to share their photos and other data. More recently, with the advent of online gaming and the expansion of the Xbox 360, PlayStation and Wii all allowing their users to compete against other remote players, wireless networking has become a necessity rather than an option.
Broadband access is now becoming faster and faster, with most suppliers now supplying wireless routers, it becomes easy to add all of your computers, game consoles and other devices. I say easy, but this is not always the case, as many of our customers find out the hard way.

We have been asked to solve many wireless and network router issues. Quite often we are able to solve these issues with relative ease, after simply altering the customers router configuration. Many of the issues however, are caused by faulty hardware! Time after time we have opened brand new, branded equipment from its box to find it simply doesn't work.

Increasingly we find that the hardware, mostly routers, have faults in the software within the router causing a huge range of issues, to then be solved by a future Firmware software update distributed by the manufacturer. Some brands seem to launch their prize new product, only to produce update after update solving issues within the router. This causes all manor of inconvenience to the end users. Security issues, connection issues, stability issues, nothing is sacred.

Considering his fact, we no longer use any router new to the market, and hold off advising our customers until the product has stood the test of time, or sometimes simply waiting for the steady stream of updates/repairs to stop!

Wireless adapters on the other hand suffer a different problem. Electrocution! USB memory sticks also used to suffer this problem, but seem to have become resilient in recent years. When I say electrocution, short circuit may be a better phrase. Many of our customers have not followed advice to shut down the USB port before disconnection hardware, but very often are completely unaware of this prior to speaking our engineers. In our investigations, we have found that many wireless network USB adapters will stop working after being disconnected in this way. Please, be warned, always shut the USB port down or shut the entire machine down before you pull the network adapter out. If you don't, you may get away with it once, may be twice, but not every time. This is also relevant to the Xbox 360 wireless adapters, be sure to turn off the console before disconnecting.

After this damage has been done, the USB network adapter will often still appear to be functioning. More often than not, the PC will still recognise the adapter and load the relevant drivers, but not see any networks. Other times the adapter can see the network, but is unable to communicate in both directions. Occasionally, Windows will simply not recognise the device ever again! Sadly, there isn't anything you can do at this stage other than return the network adapter to the shop and try to get a replacement or money back.

Our advice to you as a consumer is to research your wireless router by reading up as much as you can, search the forums for comments and issues that other users are suffering with and generally wait for at least 6 months after the product has been release upon the public. As for the wireless network adapters,

TURN OFF THE POWER BEFORE YOU UNPLUG!

Dell and HP are one of the most popular technology companies in the world. Both these companies have made a name for themselves in the realm of desktops, laptops, scanners, printers and other peripheral devices, besides providing IT services as well. Despite the huge popularity of Dell and HP devices, there is an underlying problem which affects almost all their users. The concern with their products is that they tend to break down and offer problems to their users from time to time. For a person who is knowledgeable about computers and other devices, he can fix these problems with little outside help. However, for people who are not knowledgeable about this aspect, they can have a hard time trying to get their devices fixed.

The Options You Have to Fix Your Device

The most common option you have in case of device breakdown is to try and fix the device yourself. However, this is a time consuming task and you can very well end up making the problem much worse than before. The second most common option is to go to a computer store and get it fixed or perhaps calling them at your home. This too takes time and costs a lot of money. Computer Running Slow After System Restore - Fix This Problem Without Buying a New PC

Posted on 22:09 by Unknown
http://www.techicode.com/system_restore.php
If your computer runs slow there are numerous steps you can take to fix this problem. As a last resort you can use system restore or even reinstall windows to try and fix this problem. If you have carried out a system restore and your computer still runs slow then you may be scratching your head as to what is causing the problem and may even be considering buying a new computer.

Before you take any drastic steps like this follow the steps below to fix this problem and save yourself money as well.

#1 If you have carried out a system restore check how far back you went in the restore process. When you start system restore you may have selected a date after your computer started to run slow. Trying an earlier date may fix the problem. Before you do a system restore make sure you have copies of important files and documents as they may be lost during the restore process.

#2 If you have tried several different restore points the next thing to do is to check if your computer has its own system recovery software built in. Different recovery software use different methods to start the process from starting the program on the start menu to pressing a key on the keyboard at start up.

Whichever method is used there will be an option to restore your computer back to factory default settings.
If all else has failed try this. This will remove every program you have installed since you got your computer so make sure you have copies of everything before you do this. This will take a while and once it is finished restart your PC and it should be running faster.

#3 If you find your computer is still running slow after this or your computer does not have system recovery software there is another step you can take to fix this problem. It may be that your computer is infected with malware that is hiding in the recovery sector on your disk. This means no matter how many times you do system restore the malware is still there. Instead of formatting the drive and wiping out everything to get rid of this, which is a long process, you can take an easier route.

If your computer is running slow and possibly infected with malware download and run a system and registry scanner. You can usually run a free trial to scan your computer and check for malware or registry corruption caused by malware first. If there are errors or corruption you can then run a full scan and fix your slow running computer in minutes. If you find your PC is slow even after doing a system restore follow these steps and fix it now.

Techicode IT Technical Support - Wireless Networking - A Bit of Advice

Posted on 21:47 by Unknown
http://www.techicode.com/wireless_&_networking.php

Techicode Best Design Software Support and Tips

Posted on 22:32 by Unknown
http://www.techicode.com/software_support.php
For businesses, installing a new system can be a bit daunting at first. A whole new software package may include brand new features and operational situations. If you're a design or construction business, you don't want to be guessing about these things in the middle of a contract.

Even the best software takes some getting used to, and that's where support comes in. The top design software suppliers, who are software professionals themselves, include full support in their packages. This covers all operational needs from Day One.

The dollar value of this support, incidentally, is very high. Software support on the market can be extremely expensive, and the value of the work can be debatable. This is particularly the case with proprietary software, which requires trained experts.

Integrating software and training- Best practice
Even for experts, the best design software when first encountered can be tricky to learn. There's a natural need to develop fluency when working with professional software, and the lead in time to operational proficiency has to be managed effectively.
Fortunately design software is created by professional designers for professional designers. The new design software is created specifically to allow efficient training at all levels. The best design software packages include tutorials designed for all software packages.
The professionals take that concept several steps further. Best industry practice is full structured training, combined with ongoing support functions. This is a realistic approach to working with complex software, and allows clients to deal with situations effectively.
Training values and adding new capabilities to design
Training values are based on the ability to produce levels of proficiency relative to product values. A high value is training which produces strong competencies in a valuable product.
The range of design software includes some very high value commercial products:
  • 3D design software
  • 3D modeling software
  • Architect software
  • Structural drafting
  • Engineering software
  • Design drafting
  • Computer aided drafting
  • Structural steel detailing
  • 3D drafting software
  • 3D rendering software
The basic principle of training values in relation to design capabilities is actually based on dollar values as much as design principles. A design business with higher levels of competence and wider ranges of design capabilities is naturally a much stronger business proposition.
Designers also know only too well that what they'd like to be able to do and what they're able to do aren't always the same thing. The new integrated business approach to training has opened up possibilities of much greater capabilities, combined with top of the line products. It's a true winning combination.
Pacific Computing is the exclusive distributor in Aust and NZ of Tekla Structures 3D modelling construction software for structural detailing and drafting. For more information and to view our range of products, visit Construction Software.

How to Choose a Live Support Chat Tool for Websites

Posted on 23:35 by Unknown
Besides quality, features and pricing of a product, customer support is the #1 factor that drives a business to success. Choosing the best live help chat tool or service is also essential as it is the right and foremost medium to interact with prospectus customers and viewers of your business site. Here are few things to look into before using a live chat tool.

Simplicity:

The service you choose to provide customer support through chat should be simple and ease to configure and use. Instead of software that require you to install them on your server and client side to start using, choose a web service that has no hassles. There are few services through which you can setup customer support at your website without the need for any configuration, installation or setup on your server.

Ease of Use:

Does the tool requires you to install it on server or agent systems? Does the company that offers the service takes care of the setup, installation and maintenance? How easy is it to setup and run the service? These are top most questions to you need to get answered before choosing a live chat service.

Features:

There are services like ClickDesk that offer some great features like integration of the chat with existing IMs (Internet Messengers) like gtalk and skype. The interaction between the support agents and your customer should be simple. Also, the chat agent should be able to grab some data and have access to information such as the Geo location, IP address, the ISP and email of the person with whom one communicates. Unlimited chat agents, departments, chats per day, zero installation and maintenance requirement are the basic features to be seen in any live chat software or service.

Today, advanced features such as 'one click call' are also in demand. With this, the customer can directly place a call through his computer and talk with the support agent to get any pre-sale questions answered.

Pricing:

Value for money spent is a key point in running the web service successfully. For any web service or a software, the number of features determine the price of a product or service. Be wise in carefully comparing all the available features, various plan structures and pricing.

If you a choose a live help chat software, look at the pricing, the version update fees, setup charges at your servers and the support they provide in case the code breaks or if a bug is found. A web service that provides the customer support solution as a SAAS (software as a service) is more preferable as they come with no installation or code maintenance.
